Your GSC has been hard at work planning some awesome activities for this year's HES conference!!
1. Dinner on the Town - Friday night. Come out and enjoy dinner with other graduate students and scholars. We are still deciding which scholars to invite, so if you have input, please comment or use the contact form to let us know! Who would you most like to have dinner with and get to know better in our field?
2. Grad Student Breakfast.
3. Panel Discussion. To specifically address the needs of grad students at HES, we are planning a panel to address important aspects of our transition into scholars we go through our programs: job market, comps, dissertation, and book writing/publishing. After the panel gives their general advice, we will break up into small groups for discussion. We have already confirmed participation from panelists Dr. Jon Hale (job market), Gail Wolfe (dissertation), Dr. Sevan Terzian (publishing), and Robbie Gross (comps).
Also, we are looking for people to guest-post on this blog. Have you recently completed a research trip, or been on the job market? We would like you to share your experiences so that we can all learn from them! Let us know if you are interested in writing a blog post.
